Jodie Jones
“The most important job I have is ensuring the success of the associates on my team. If I excel at that, we grow the business and win as an industrial group.”
Jodie was there when Ferguson made its entrance into the industrial world. She had a short tenure with an industrial distribution company in the Midwest when their acquisition by Ferguson was announced. With a background in Mechanical Engineering, she was somewhat hesitant about a future with Ferguson. But the rest, as they say, is history. More than two decades later Ferguson is a respected leader in the industrial space, and Jodie has logged a 24-year career with the company.
As an Area Manager, Jodie is focused on developing her team and driving the industrial business in the Central Midwest. She thrives on new challenges and opportunities and loves celebrating wins. “I set a fun, easygoing tone, but run a tight ship. I believe in going above and beyond, getting creative, doing things right, and the power of a good-natured practical joke.”
Jodie puts a lot of stock in learning from others and emphasizes the importance of taking advantage of those opportunities. “Ferguson has associates with tremendous knowledge and talent who are always willing to share what they know to help others.”
Jodie credits her team for always being willing to rise to a challenge. She said their tenacity to tackle a project of any scale has resulted in some significant customer wins. “My colleagues are not only industry experts but exceptional people. I am privileged to work with them.”
"Funny? I believe in running a tight ship. I believe in working hard. But I also believe in the power of a good-natured practical joke and having a little fun while we are doing it."
"A month ago I hiked Pikes Peak! I prefer to tackle challenges and adventures rather than go on a hum-drum vacation. It was a pretty interesting adventure that ended in a lightning strike on top of the mountain. And a bit of a hairy last couple hundred yards but I made it."
"There really isn’t a food I don’t like. Diet coke keeps me going on a daily basis. I wish I didn’t have so many favorite foods."
"Ya, I totally have had a fail. I’m not a cook or a chef but I have hosted thanksgiving for the last 24 years, and even though I have cooked that meal 20 times a few years ago, my mashed potatoes were sticky. And trust me you don’t want sticky potatoes in my family. It was brutal. I’m surprised they came back the next year."
"I’d be a pair of running shoes because they take me on every adventure I go on and you never know what’s going to happen."
"I wish I had any skill. I always feel like I’m a jack of all trades but a master of none … I’d like to master one. For fun, I like to goof off and attempt to play guitar… so maybe a master of playing the guitar. I’ll attempt almost anything."
