You could call Cathy an accidental associate. She applied for an office manager position with a new Ferguson acquisition, Frischkorn, in 2006. At the time she almost didn’t accept the job because she wasn’t familiar with the Industrial business and didn’t know anything about pipe and valves. It took some convincing, but she obviously said “yes” to the job and working for Ferguson. Even better, she says she ended up getting more than a job, she found a career.

In her 15 years with Ferguson, Cathy says it has been a privilege to hold a variety of roles across the company, including sales, administration, branch management, and operations. She credits the company and its supportive culture with giving her the opportunity to continually learn and grow as a person and as a professional, allowing her to become well rounded and knowledgeable about all aspects of the business. Today she can apply her history of experiences to the work she does every day, giving her a real depth of perspective and understanding especially when it comes to problem solving.

Throughout her career, Cathy has been inspired and motivated by Ferguson’s culture and the people she works with, whom she calls her work family. She’s a genuine flag bearer for the company, and says she is constantly recruiting others to join what she believes to be a very special place to work. In her heart Cathy believes that with hard work and dedication you can go wherever you want with Ferguson — that the sky’s the limit. And she’s proud to be proof that that’s true!
